3 Ways To Prepare For Your HVAC Installation

Introduction

Once you buy your new HVAC system for your Lufkin, Texas, home, it’s time to prepare for the installation. Although you may not realize it, a new HVAC installation is an intensive project and may slightly disrupt your life for a short period. Here are some points to help you prepare for the new HVAC system to be installed:

  • Understand Your New System: If you’re changing systems completely, you need to understand how it will operate in your home. For instance, you may find that the new high-efficiency systems will allow you to keep your thermostat at a higher temperature. You may also want to install a UV light or other HVAC accessory with your new equipment. Make sure you understand how your new system will fit into your home before you have it installed.
  • Pick Your Thermostat: Since you’re upgrading your HVAC system, it’s time to get a new thermostat. Although you could just get a simple digital thermostat, it’s probably best to spend some time investigating more comprehensive models. A smart or Wi-Fi thermostat can help you save money and energy on your home by allowing you to control it from your smartphone. You can even buy sensors for your home that connect to your thermostat to adjust the temperature when you’re not there.
  • Meet With Your Contractor: Before your contractor starts any part of that installation, sit down with the company so you can fully understand your new system and how it’s installed. You don’t want any surprises if the procedure is more comprehensive than you were expecting. You also need to know what the contractor’s expectations are for you while they are setting up your new system. The last thing you want is to not understand what is going on during the installation process.

If you’re considering a new HVAC system, we are here to help. McWilliams Heating, Cooling and Plumbing can assist you with finding the right HVAC system for your home as well as prepare you for installation. Call us at (877) 936-1974 to discuss a new system today.
